Halal
Definition
The arabic word (Halal) means lawful. In the Holy Quran, Allah commands Muslims and all of mankind to eat of the Halal things.
Quranic Verses
Surah 2:168 — O mankind, eat from whatever is on earth [that is] lawful and good and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.
Surah 2:172 — O you who have believed, eat from the good things which We have provided for you and be grateful to Allah if it is [indeed] Him that you worship.
Surah 5:88 — And eat of what Allah has provided for you [which is] lawful and good. And fear Allah, in whom you are believers.

Zabihah Procedure
- 1. The animal must be from the categories that are permissible to eat.
- 2. The animal must be alive at the time of slaughter.
- 3. The slaughter must be done by a sane adult Muslim.
- 4. The name of Allah must be invoked at the time of slaughter by saying "Bismillah" (in the name of Allah).
- 5. The slaughter must be done by cutting the throat, windpipe and blood vessels in the neck with a sharp knife, and allowing the blood to drain.
Haram Definition
The arabic word (Haram) means unlawful.
